Last night I rented the nursing math book, and I just bought the fundamentals of nursing e-book and oh boy it's real now. I just skimmed the 1st two sections of chapter one and your girl is excited. The crazy part is they expect us to read like 6 chapters before the first day of class and some of us haven't even received an email from our professors. The only reason I know about reading the chapters is because of the group chat. FAM: the group chat may be annoying at times, but it is clutch. You have to join it. Whatever journey you are on I wish you the best of luck! XOXO, T

It's pretty difficult to put into words the excitement, fear, anxiety and joy that comes with this new venture. I cannot believe that after 1 year of pre req's and overcoming so many obstacles that I made it into nursing school. I have done all I can do to prepare and now I'm tying up all the loose ends so I can focus completely on school.

XOXO, T Begin motivational post. LOL. The truth is I really needed motivation and yesterday I got it. I was sitting in my church's annual graduation celebration and I can't pinpoint why, but I was extremely emotional. I was so proud of all the graduates and I could actually see myself in their shoes one day.
Towards the end my pastor got up to give the closing prayer and benediction and he surprised the moderator with a graduation gift. Little did we know that she had graduated with her masters degree recently. What brought me to tears was her situation and the similarity to mine. After previously failing out of school and in the midst of a divorce she completed her education. She overcame so much and by the grace of God she made it through. Honestly, at some point in your life the odds are going to be stacked against you. You're going to be the underdog, and that's when it's time to dig deep, put the pedal to the metal and push on through. Just one more hour, one more day, one more week, one more month, one more year. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and the light is getting closer and closer. You have what it takes. You need to reach deep down inside of yourself and pull out all the negativity, all the negative words, and all the doubt. Then you need to fill yourself with positive self talk, good habits, accountability, and sheer awesomeness. Friendly reminder: You were made in the Image of God - IMAGO DEI GOD LITERALLY BREATHED THE BREATH OF LIFE INTO YOU. Our good God gave you a future and a hope. HE FORMED YOU IN YOUR MOTHER'S WOMB. LITERALLY KNIT YOU TOGETHER PIECE BY PIECE. He calls you a royal priesthood and a holy nation. Hey Queen! Hey King! YOU ARE HIS SON/DAUGHTER AND JOINT HEIR WITH CHRIST - whoo chile our big brother is Jesus! I don't know if this word encourages anyone else, but I feel like I just went to church. Is anyone else doing a praise dance? Keep up the good work. You are more than enough. This too shall pass. I love you, but more importantly Jesus loves you. XOXO, T |
